COVID-19 Numbers Decreasing in Knox County but Not Yet a Trend

Dr. Martha Buchanan with the Knox County Health Department says declining numbers in the county doesn’t mean we’re out of the woods.

Buchanan urges everyone to keep doing the 5 core actions:  Staying 6 feet apart, wearing a mask in public, washing your hands, staying at home if you’re sick and wiping down surfaces in your home and at work.  Buchanan says she is cautiously optimistic about numbers decreasing in the County but can’t call it a trend yet.

COVID-19 numbers for Knox County, released 8/7/20:

There are 2,182 active cases,
there are 16 people hospitalized due to COVID-19.
There are no new deaths to report but there are 42 deaths linked to COVID-19 in Knox County.  There are 2,418 recovered cases in the county.
