We now know the identity of the person who died and the three survivors of a helicopter crash. Joe Clayton, Co-founder of Clayton Automotive and Clayton Homes died in the crash. His brother, James Clayton, Chairman of First Bank in East Tennessee and former President of Clayton Homes, John McBride and Flynt Griffin survived the crash according to our TV News Partner, WVLT.
A passing pontoon boat spotted them and got them out of the water. The copter crashed into the Tennessee River just before 8:00 o’clock yesterday near Alcoa Highway and Sequoyah Hills. The helicopter was a Eurocopter EC-130. The FAA and NTSB are investigating the cause of the crash.
