There have been reports that if a person in Knox County tests positive for Covid-19, they will be represented in the data as two separate cases rather than just one case.
At today’s Knox County Health Department briefing, Charity Menefee of KCHD rebuked that report.
“That is not true,” Menefee said confidently. “An individual who tests positive is only counted in our reports once and that’s it.”

As of July 1, Knox County has transitioned to the “Tennessee Pledge” which means the county will now fall under the statewide orders for reopening. Previously, the county had been working at its own pace as directed by KCHD.
