Knox County will move to phase two of its reopening plan on Tuesday, May 26. Dr. Martha Buchanan, director of the Knox County Health Department, made the announcement in a daily news conference Wednesday. Phase two was originally set to begin on Friday, May 29 “Our testing continues to go up,” Buchanan said. “Our hospital capacity continues to remain positive. So all of these things are pointing in the direction of continuing to opening more things up.”
Businesses and other activities included in the phase two reopening plan include food trucks, bars, indoor leisure facilities, pools, splash pads, community centers, and libraries. Among the facilities that remain closed are senior centers and playgrounds.
Buchanan says further details about the phase two reopening plan will be released Friday.
