The victim in a fatal accident involving a pedestrian is identified.
Tennessee Highway Patrol say the victim in the accident on Tazewell Pike at Carter Road yesterday (Tuesday) is 35 year-old Lakeysha Tuggle of Knoxville.
According to reports, a car was traveling south on Tazewell Pike and approached the intersection at Adkins Road. Tuggle was reportedly walking along Tazewell Pike towards Adkins Road wearing dark clothing and was struck by the vehicle.
No word if any charges will be filed.
Original Story: Tazewell Pike is shutdown after a fatal accident. Rural Metro Fire is on the scene north of Carter Road. Investigators say a pedestrian was involved. The crash happened around 5:30 Tuesday morning.
You’ll need an alternate route as the roadway is completely shutdown at Atkins Road. You can use Maynardville Pike and Washington Pike to get around it.
