The identity of the pedestrian hit and killed on Chapman Highway is released.
44 year-old Robert Webster of Knoxville was hit near the intersection of Chapman Highway and Moody Avenue last (Monday) night. The driver of the car says Webster wasn’t in the crosswalk and just stepped in front of them.
Webster was taken to UT Medical Center where he died from his injuries. The driver of the car wasn’t injured.
KPD’s reconstruction team is still investigating.

It happened Monday night at 10:47 p.m. The pedestrian was walking near the intersection with Moody Avenue outside the crosswalk when he was hit by a motorist.
The pedestrian was rushed to the hospital where he died from his injuries. They’re working on notifying next of kin before identifying the man.
The driver was not injured.
