Oak Ridge Woman Pleads Guilty to Murdering Granddaughter

An Oak Ridge woman has admitted to killing her granddaughter. Authorities say 18-month-old Manhattan Inman was malnourished and smothered to death in 2011.

The DA says 54-year-old Valerie Stenson, pleaded guilty Friday to Second-Degree Murder and will spend 30 years in prison with no possibility of parole.

In a statement The Anderson County DA said, “We are pleased that Manhattan can rest now that justice has been done. This was a very emotional case for the Oak Ridge Police Department’s officers that worked it and the Assistants in my office who prosecuted it.”
