Two additional cases of measles have been identified in East Tennessee. The Tennessee Department of Health says the total number of confirmed cases now stands at three.
The new cases are associated with the measles case confirmed two weeks ago and were identified as part of the state’s ongoing investigation. The state did not identify the cities where the people with the new cases live.
Health officials say the first East Tennessee case may have exposed others in at convenience stores in Clinton and Chattanooga. Nationwide, there are more than 700 confirmed cases of the measles.
