Police Shot and Killed Suspect Trying to Break-in to Ex-girlfriend’s Home

The suspect is dead after an officer-involved shooting in Greeneville. Police responded to a disturbance call at the Crestview Apartments on Highway 70 last night. Officers say 51-year-old Hollis Lewis was trying to break into his ex-girlfriend’s door by shooting it. Officers ordered him to drop the weapon. The situation escalated and two officers shot Lewis. He was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. No officers were injured. The TBI is handling the investigation.
