West Town Mall Re-Opens After Fire in Food Court

West Town Mall, including it’s food court, has re-opened following following a fire in the food court this morning.

The Knoxville Fire Department says the call came in at 11 a.m. The sprinkler system contained the fire and crews were able to to extinguish flames. No injuries reported.

Anchor stores at West Town Mall are given the go ahead to re-open by the Knoxville Fire Department following a food court fire this morning.

The call came in at 11 a.m. The sprinkler system contained the fire and crews were able to continue to extinguish flames. No injuries have been reported.

The Food Court will remained closed for clean-up but other stores in the mall are allowed to re-open once they get their Life safety equipment operational. Most stores should re-open today (Friday).

Knoxville Fire Department is investigating a fire at West Town Mall Friday afternoon. The call came in around 11 a.m. as an activated fire alarm. 9-1-1 calls followed reporting smoke and fire in the building. KFD found a small fire in the rear of three of the restaurants in the food court. The sprinkler system contained the fire and crews were able to continue to extinguish flames. No injuries have been reported. The mall was evacuated as a precaution.
