George Thomas will now serve two 25 year sentences consecutively on charges of second-degree murder rather than first-degree murder. Thomas gave testimony that lead to the criminal conviction of Eric Boyd last month in the 2007 murders of Channon Christian and Chris Newsom murders.
A man convicted in the Christian Newsom murders is headed back to court Monday seeking a reduced sentence. George Thomas testified against Eric Boyd who was found guilty in the case last month.
In exchange for his testimony, Thomas was said to receive time off of his sentence. Right now, Thomas is eligible parole in 2064.
