Skeletal Remains Believed to be Hitchhiker

Officials say the human remains found in Loudon County may belong to a hitchhiker. So far foul play is not suspected.

Investigators believe the man may have froze to death along the side of the road within the last five years.

Mowing crews discovered a human skull Tuesday in a wooded area off I-75 near the Philadelphia exit. Searchers were called in and deputies found more bones, shoes and clothes.

The remains were taken to an Anthropologist who’s working to determine who the man is and how he died.
