The Knox County Health Department will be spraying areas for mosquitoes carrying West Nile Virus. The virus is confirmed in the Tower Drive area of North Knoxville. Weather permitting, spraying will be Thursday between 8:30 p.m. and 2 a.m. to reduce the mosquito population and the risk of the virus spreading to humans. Part of the spray area includes Steeple Chase Apartments, parts of Cedar Lane and Inskip Drive. Signs will be posted in the affected neighborhoods to alert residents, who are asked to stay inside during spraying and keep pets inside or in the backyard.
