Murder Charges Filed Against West TN Escaped Inmate

The TBI is now calling an escaped convict a murderer. Warrants have been secured against 44-year-old Curtis Ray Watson for first-degree murder, especially aggravated burglary and aggravated sexual battery.

Authorities have not released the details of the warrants, but Correctional Employee 64-year-old Debra Johnson was found dead when Watson disappeared Wednesday.

Watson escaped from the West Tennessee State Penitentiary on a tractor. It’s been located. The search is concentrated in West Tennessee, but officials say he could be anywhere.
