Authorities in Sevier County say they initially tried to pull over 18-year-old Johnathon Sellers on suspicion of DUI around 4:00 a.m. Friday morning.
However, he led them on a chase that ended on the Parkway near Apple Valley Road. Deputies say Sellers was armed when he got out of the vehicle, so they fired. He was taken to the hospital.
A short time later, officers in Alcoa made a wellness check at his mother’s apartment. They found 52-year-old Kelly Brackin dead, shot multiple times.
Sellers is charged with Criminal Homicide and is being held on a $1 Million Bond.
