“Traveling Bandit” has Robbed Banks in at Least 6 States Including Tennessee

FBI Agents in six states are working to determine whether one man is responsible for a string of bank robberies from Tennessee to Utah. The robber first struck in December in Florida. Five days later, he is believed to have robbed another bank North Carolina. On January 4th, 2019, he robbed a bank in nearby Johnson City, Tennessee. He then traveled to Mt. Juliet, Tennessee and robbed another bank on January 8th before hitting again on the 10th in Alabama. His latest robberies were January 14th in Illinois and yesterday in Utah.If you’re counting, the “Traveling Bandit” has hit at least seven banks in six states since starting his spree. The suspect usually approaches the counter and presents a note demanding money and threatens a weapon and tis then seen leaving on foot. No one has been harmed in the robberies, yet. The suspect may be driving a white Ford Explorer or Expedition. In most all of the robberies, he has worn similar clothing, including a black jacket, white t-shirt, and black baseball hat. He is described as a white male, goatee, salt and pepper hair, 40s to 50s, medium height and medium build. Witnesses in the Florida robbery say he speaks with a “country accent”.
