Knoxville Award Grant for Lead Remediation

The City of Knoxville has been awarded $3.6 million to remediate lead in low-income homes.

The city said it is one of 48 municipal recipients of the funding and the only one in the state. It received a similar grant of $2.5 million in 2013.

The city says in a news release it will work with partners to address lead hazards in 160 housing units.

The application and enrollment process will be managed by Knoxville-Knox County Community Action Committee, and it will be open to owner-occupied and rental properties.
