TBI Investigating Fatal ORPD Officer-Involved Shooting

The suspect in an officer-involved shooting in Oak Ridge Monday night has died. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is involved in the case.

Officers were attempting to pull over the man who had outstanding warrants. However he didn’t stop and police gave chase.

The pursuit ended on Emory Valley Road in the parking lot outside the Anderson County General Sessions Court. The officers got out of the car and one was struck by the suspect’s vehicle.

A second officer fired hitting the suspect. The unidentified suspect was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. The officer hit by the car is expected to be okay.
