1 Killed 4 Injured in Nashville Shooting

(AP) – Police in Tennessee say one man has died in a shooting that left four other people injured at a Nashville public housing complex.

The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department says in a news release the shooting Saturday night killed Mansfield Rutherford.

The statement says Rutherford was celebrating what would have been his 23rd birthday on Monday at the Cheatham Place housing complex when two men approached and opened fire, striking Rutherford in the chest.

Police say Mansfield was pronounced dead at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Four other men with Rutherford ranging in age from 18 to 32 sustained injuries that weren’t life threatening.

Police are looking for two suspects in their early 20s.
