Boy Said to Be Stable After Shot in the Head

A boy shot in the head in Claiborne County over the weekend is said to be doing okay. Deputies were called to the home, in the Shawanee community, around 11:30 Saturday morning.

The boy was treated at the scene and airlifted to the hospital. Officials say he went through surgery Sunday and was in stable condition. Officials say the parents were at the home when it happened.

The sheriff didn’t give any details to the nature of the wound but said it was substantial.
